Algeria with its 1200 km of Easts coast to less than 24 hours of the European ports and at 5 hours (60 miles) of maritime the broad outline international. By its strategic position, it is the gate or the corridor of exchange between the two old continents.
Administratively, Algeria is divided into 48 provinces called Wilya.
The wilaya is a public territorial community with the autonomous legal entity finances, and an assembly elected called APW (popular assembly of wilaya) and placed under the autirity of the WALI (prefect). the wilaya are divided into DAIRAS (sub-prefectures).
The national language is Arabic, but Algeria is considered, from a linguistic point of view, as one of the principal French-speaking countries in the world
With a growth of 6,8% in 2003, the economic activity of Algeria progressed at an intensive pace translated by an evaluated profit of growth to 2% per year.
The new economic changes pushed the State to disengage commercial sphere. it plays from now on the part of regulator (regality).
